System Configuration

EASE OF SETUP

The LT 2000 system is easy to setup and takes only minutes to install on a workstation.

SCADA INTERFACE

The LT 2000 system uses a simple interface to existing SCADA systems. In many cases it only requires a minimal amount of effort to start processing data. LT 2000 alarms can be passed back to the SCADA system allowing the operators to use a single interface for alarm monitoring.

DATA EASILY EDITED

Customers have the ability to completely configure their own systems. A great effort has been made to simplify the configuration process. The user is only required to enter station or pipeline specific information using a spreadsheet like interface. In most situations the default parameter values work quite well.

The user starts by configuring a pipeline. The screen capture below illustrates a pipeline called 10Inch with 5 stations.

Once a pipeline is configured then the individual stations need to be defined. The following screen capture illustrates some of the information that might be entered for a pump station called BAYTWN.

One of the more complex aspects of a pipeline is the various metering that us used. It ranges from simple LACT meters to shared meter skids between multiple pipelines. LT 2000 has a library of  methods for meter handling which answer most of the unique problems associated with meters.

ALARM PROCESSING DATA EASILY EDITED

After the upset timer times out, or is interrupted by the above determination, then the line pack and meter over/short alarm basis is reset.

When the meter and line pack values are positive for a period of time (positive indicates no leak condition) the aged (tunable) values are reset to the base line to prevent them from interfering with a leak determination.

There are four alarm intervals which are maintained and alarmed. Every 15 minutes on the modulo 15 minutes, the values are adjusted by instantaneous computations as summed for the 15 minute period.

Description Line Pack Meter O/S-Line Pack

Instantaneous Alarm
(running line pack value)
Line Pack alarm Meter O/S-no Line pack
15 minute Line Pack alarm Meter O/S + Line Pack
1hour(running hour
[4-15 minute values])
Line Pack alarm Meter O/S + Line Pack
24 hour(running 24 hour
[96 -15 minute values])
Line Pack calculation
-no alarm
Meter O/S-no Line pack

With the inclusion of all features leak detection can be performed with only Flow Deviation, Pressure Deviation, Linepack calculation, Meter Over/Short calculation and in any combination of the above are all of the above.

All alarms and events processed by the LT 2000 system are passed to the SCADA system to be integrated into the normal SCADA alarm processing.
