REGISTRATION - TEAM ROSTERS
Team roosters are limited to the following number of players:
- U11 through U19 Eighteen (18) players
- U9 to U10 Twelve (12) players (2005-2006 season only)
- U7 to U8 Seven (7) players
- U6 Six (6) players
- A maximum of three (3) guest players.
A player may play on only one (1) team in the tournament.
An official roster must accompany the application.
A final team roster signed by the club or association registrar must be submitted at check-in if there are any changes
An approved travel permit must be presented at check in for non-STYSA teams.
All teams and players must be USYSF registered.
MEDICAL
Medical release forms must be presented for all players at the time of check-in.
The wearing of hard casts, whether padded or not, are not permitted at any time.
PLAYER DOCUMENTATION
Coaches are required to present a laminated player card for each player with a picture of the player at the check-in.
Players without a player ID card will not be allowed to play.
Player ID cards must be available for inspection by tournament officials at the site of each game.
LAWS OF THE GAME AS MODIFIED
FIFA laws shall apply as noted as modified:
Number of players for U6 - 3v3, U7 - 4v4, U8 - 7v7, U9 & U10 8v8.
Minimum numbers of players required to play are: U6 - two, U7 - three, U8 - five, U9 & U10 - six, U-11 to U19 - seven
Substitutions by either team are permitted on any stoppage of play with the referee's permission.Uniforms: All players on a team shall wear uniquely different numbered jerseys. Each team must have an alternate jersey in color conflict. First team listed on the schedule is home team and must change jerseys if deemed necessary by the referee.
GAME SCHEDULES
- All schedules are final as published. No change requests will be accepted.
- Teams must be at game site (field) 15 minutes before scheduled game time and be ready for inspection by the referee.
- Games must start at the scheduled time; no warm up on the fields will be permitted.
- Teams not ready within five minutes of scheduled start time will forfeit game.
TOURNAMENT GAME FORMAT (mini-games)
- U-13 through U 19 - Two 30 minute halves
- U-11 through U 12 - Two 25 minute halves
- U9 and U10 - Two 20 minute halves
- U7 and U8 - Four 10 minute quarters (no advancement)
- U6 - Four 8 minute quarters (no advancement)
- running clock during all game stoppages
- 5 minute half times
- 2 minute quarter breaks (U6 to U8)
- (heat index 95+) 1 minute water break at quarter if requested by either coach or referee before game starts
SCORING SYSTEM
- Mini-game scoring: 6 points for a win, 3 points for a tie, 1 point for a shut out, and 1 point per goal scored up to a maximum of 3 goals.
- A forfeit counts as 10 points.
- 0-0 tie counts as 4 points for each team
- Maximum points per game are 10 points
- One (1) point will be deducted for each red card or every (3) yellow cards.
ADVANCEMENT
- No advancement for ages U8 and below.
- Team with the most points accumulated in each bracket advances to next round (semi-finals or finals).
- Teams that forfeit a game will not advance or be eliglibe for awards
- Some divisions may advance 2nd place teams in brackets or wild card teams. Wild card teams are determined on the basis of the highest number of points after bracket winners. Tie-breaker rules apply. The tournament committee will determine ladder seeding.
PLAY-OFF GAMES (semi-finals and finals)
- Playing time will be regulation times.
- Tie-breakers:
- Semi-Finals tie-breakers - FIFA penalty kicks (no overtimes).
- Finals tie-breakers - Two regulation overtimes, then FIFA penalty kicks if necessary.
TIE-BREAKER RULES
- Results of head to head competition.
- Goal difference -goals scored minus goals allowed (+/-) (up to a maximum of + or - three goals per game).
- Results of least goals scored against.
- FIFA penalty kicks or coin flip at the discretion of the tournament committee.
REPORTING SCORES
Winning team coach is responsible for turning in game cards. If game ends in tie home field coach is responsible for turn in of card. A game cards not turned in may result in a double forfiet (no points awarded) if the actual score can not be determined by tournament officials.
SPORTSMANSHIP/DISCIPLINE
- All players, coaches and spectators are expected to show good sportsmanship at all times.
Failure to show good sportsmanship may lead to the disqualification of individuals or the team from the tournament.- Coaches are responsible for the conduct of the team and their supporters.
- Teams with coaches assemble opposite side of field from the spectators of that team.
DISCIPLINE POINTS
RED CARD
- A player or coach receiving a red card must sit out the rest of that game and the next actually played game.
- A second red card to the same person results in that person being expelled from the tournament.
- 9 points
YELLOW CARD
EXCESSIVE POINTS
THE TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE WILL REVIEW ANY TEAM ACCUMULATING MORE THAT 21 PENALTY POINTS.
REFEREES
To volunteer for referee assignment, contact club referee2005@sbysc.org.
- Incase of referee assault, team shall be disqualified.
- Referees are required to report all disciplinary actions.
- All discipline points will be reported to the home association in the official Post Tournament Report.
- Referee decisions are final.
- No protests are allowed. The tournament committee has final say on all matters relating to the tournament.
AWARDS
- Individual awards will be presented for championship or runner-up places in U9 through U19.
- Participation medals will be presented to all U6, U7, and U8 players.
- Each player and coach will receive a participation patch or equivalent.
RAINOUT POLICY
- In the event of a total tournament rainout, each entry will receive a partial refund equal to that team's entry fee less an administrative fee.
- In the event of a partial rainout, games will be rescheduled when possible, within tournament time restraints.
- First and second place teams will be determined based on games completed.
- No refunds will be given once tournament games begin.
