Operator Certification System

The Operator Certification System (OCS) is a very practical and cost effective way to upgrade your operators pipeline knowledge. It is used to train new dispatchers in pipeline leak detection and re-certify seasoned dispatchers in advanced pipeline monitoring. This system works in connection with your SCADA system so that the dispatchers are using environments they use in actual operation.

A fully functioning LT 2000 system is provided with the OCS function.

Leak Simulation

• The tester can select a leak to occur at various sites along the pipeline and select the size of the leak.
• The tester can assess the reaction of the dispatcher to various leak selections.
• The types of leak notification can be selected, including none, such as full notification from the OCS system to no notification and the dispatcher evaluating SCADA response only.
• Leaks are modeled to reflect flow increase upstream of a leak and flow reduction downstream.
• Discharge, back pressure, and suction pressure are accurately modeled to reflect actual leaks and the pressure wave movement.
• Hydraulic Gradient display is included so that accurate hydraulic occurrences are shown.

Functions Performed

The tester can select various size leaks at various locations and monitor the dispatchers reaction. All testing can be done at random times, even from remote locations.
