November 2005

A San Antonio based pipeline operator ran a simulated pipeline leak test against a major pipeline SCADA provider leak detection software. The simulated leak was an 80 BPH strip-off at a pump station between Amarillo, TX and Albuquerque, NM. The LT2000 system was able to detected the leak in less than a minute. The other system was unable to detect the leak for 15 minutes (15 times longer). The additional delay would have resulted in a spill of 20 additional BBLS of product.

A side note: The LT2000 system had not been adjusted since original installation, more than 3 years ago. The other software was installed starting in January 2004.

December 2003

A valued customer was visited by a 6 man DOT team. The customer was questioned on all major features provided by LT 2000. The DOT was shown the results of a test where the customer stripped off 1633 barrels without monitoring I/O and LT 2000 estimated the amount of the leak to be 1605 barrels along with an accurate estimate of the location. In summary the customer was very pleased with LT 2000’s ability to satisfy the DOT’s many requirements.
