Transient Processing

Many pipeline operations influence computational pipeline monitoring. How these changes are handled, directly affect how accurate the monitoring can be done. During a transient condition is the most likely time for a leak to happen. Continued and effective monitoring is not only desired but required if leaks are to be detected during these changes.

LT 2000 is designed to handle normal operational transients such as tank switching, pump start/stop, setpoint changes, valve changes and other  activities which cause pipeline parameters to deviate from a steady state condition. When a change is detected LT 2000 goes into s special transient mode to continue processing but allow the steady state limits to be temporarily adjusted for the particular type of transient. Switching from a full tank to an empty tank or starting a pump may temporally give the indication of a leak but LT 2000 handles the situation.
